Annual Gifts
Annual gifts allow us to use your support where it is needed most. These gifts give YWCA Central Maine the strength and flexibility to keep serving our community today and into the future and ensure we can continue delivering programs that align with our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
Our Winter Appeal
- This year, the YWCA served more than 18,000 meals to local children—many of whom rely on us as their most dependable source of food.
- More than 11,000 meals were provided free as most children in our care face rising food insecurity.
- Every day, children come to the YWCA
and know there will be a hot meal waiting for them.
At YWCA Central Maine, our commitment to local families is stronger than ever. Recently, when SNAP
benefits were in jeopardy because of the government shutdown, we opened our doors wide. No questions asked. Every child in our community who needed a meal was welcomed in. And thanks to the dedication of our staff and supporters like you, every child in our Afterschool Program continues to receive a warm, “super snack” every single day.
These meals are more than food—they are fuel for learning, peace of mind for working parents, and
crucial stability in uncertain times. With winter bringing heightened food insecurity, the YWCA stands
as a lifeline for families who rely on a warm meal and a safe, welcoming space. We can only do this work with your support.

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)
If you plan to give through your Donor-Advised Fund, many institutions require grant requests to be submitted before December 15th. Check with your DAF advisor now to make sure your gift is processed in time. YWCA Central Maine’s EIN Number is: 01-0211570 for processing.
