The YWCA is celebrating Galentine’s Day in style again this year! For those unfamiliar, Galentine’s Day is a holiday popularized by the television show Parks and Recreation, to celebrate friendship and love among womxn. Festivities often include brunch, gift exchange, and appreciation for all of the important womxn in our lives–including friends, moms, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, grandmothers, teachers, lovers, mentors, and colleagues. In this season of romance, Galentine’s Day reminds us that the love of all of our connections–not just romantic love–is worth celebrating!
This Galentine’s Day, the YWCA is inviting womxn in our community to send a Galentine basket to special lady friends in their lives. On February 12, 2021 YWCA staff, wearing their fanciest and best Galentine’s Day attire, will personally deliver baskets of treats and well-wishes to Galentines in Lewiston and Auburn.
Galentine’s baskets are stuffed full of goodies that can include chocolate, baked goods, coffee, soaps, flowers, gift cards, candles, personalized messages, and more! You have three baskets (chocolate lovers, coffee lovers, and self-care) to choose from and each will be a special surprise delivery. You also have an option to add a wine into your basket, for those extra special gals in your life.
Each Galentine’s Day gift basket is available for order at $35 – including delivery! Adding a bottle of wine will be an additional $15 charge ($50 total for a basket with wine). The Galentine’s Day delivery service is a fundraiser to benefit the work of your local YWCA in empowering women and eliminating racism!
To order a Galentine’s Day basket for an important lady* in your life, please come in to fill out an order form in person, call the YWCA (795-4050) to fill out a form by phone, or complete an order form using this online form.
But hurry! Orders will only be accepted through Friday, February 5th.
